The polar-like decomposition and its applications

Abstract

In this paper, we present a unique polar-like decomposition theorem for rectangular complex matrices. Applying the decomposition, we dene on the set of rectangular matrices a new partial ordering called WL(weak Lowner) partial order | an extension of the GL(generalized Lowner) partial order, and derive some basic properties of the new partial ordering.
