Abstract


Let $\mathcal S$ be a ring with identity in which $2$ is invertible. In this paper we describe the structure of the quaternion ring $\mathcal R=H(\mathcal S)$ which is a generalization of the Hamilton's division ring of real quaternions $\HH=H(\RR)$.
