The Moore-Penrose inverse in rings with involution

Abstract

Let R be a unital ring with involution. New existence criteria for the Moore-Penrose inverse of an element in R are obtained. Also, we show that some conditions of well-known existence criteria for the Moore-Penrose inverse can be dropped. In addition, the explicit expressions for the Moore-Penrose inverse of an element in R are presented.
